Kaizen
Modernity and classicism, urbanity and nature, counterculture and establishment.
Japan's inherent and exuberant dualities—its embraced contradictions—are the inspiration for Casablanca's Fall-Winter 2025 Women's and Men's collection .
A perspective informed by experience, drawn from two decades of repeated travel to Japan, closely observing its cultures, rituals, and traditions—old and new. This collection, Casablanca's second directly inspired by the country, explores cultural intersections and exchanges: both a reflection on Japan and on Japan's view of the outside world.
Casablanca's vision of Japan is resolutely contemporary—a tribute to the ceaseless creativity of the youth countercultures shaping Japan's modern landscape. The customized motorcycles and embroidery of Bōsōzoku contrast with the Kawaii aesthetic of Harajuku , itself juxtaposed with the uniforms of Japan's corporate world, or the exuberance of rave outfits.
Added to this are nods to the hypermodern landscapes of Japanese metropolises, as well as reminiscences of lush nature, between countryside and mountains.
A land of contrasts inspires a collection of opposites—in harmony.
The notion of Kaizen —a philosophy of continuous improvement—gives this collection both its title and its rhythm . A process of refinement. Industrial and subcultural uniforms inform the silhouettes, merged, repurposed, embellished, and transposed into a new stylistic context.
The collection is based on meticulous tailoring , for both women and men. The layers and loose cuts pay respectful homage to traditional Japanese costume.
