Venus as a Boy

Our conception of time as a linear composition leads us to believe that we live in a continuous progression—that what we know today is richer than what we knew yesterday, and that the promises of the future hold more keys to understanding our nature and our world than does the past.
While this vision fuels a spirit of perpetual discovery, it sometimes engenders a form of resistance to the ideas of the past.
Perhaps it is now vital to find a dialogue between past and present .

In its new collection, Casablanca turns its gaze towards ancient Greece .

Entitled Venus as a Boy , this collection is an ode to reinterpretation . Its name is borrowed from Björk 's song, itself already a reinterpretation of the figure of Venus - who is none other than a Roman version of Aphrodite .
Venus as a Boy , beyond the title, becomes a central metaphor for the spirit of the collection, and resonates intimately with Charaf Tajer , founder and artistic director of Casablanca.
The song - a unique symphonic arrangement blending classical strings with almost oriental influences, rhythms marked by the 90s, and introspective lyrics - finds a deep echo in his imagination.

We are proud to present two major collaborations within this collection.

The first, with the legendary artist Jeff Hamilton , an iconic figure in sportswear and pop culture. Together, we designed two jackets:
– One enriched with hotfix embroidery fused with crystals ,
– The other, a reinterpretation of its iconic patchwork leather jackets, both adorned with seasonal motifs , reflecting the creative dynamism of this collection.

The second, with the iconic brand Ancient Greek Sandals , famous for its local craftsmanship and innovative approach to design.
We have revisited several of their cult models, incorporating embroidered laurels and shearling details , to breathe new life into these silhouettes.
